Understanding Your Costs
CTA Behavioral Health is committed to providing clear information about the cost of care before services begin. Clients will receive information about the applicable service fee, insurance status, estimated cost-sharing, and relevant payment policies.
CTA Behavioral Health may bill insurance only when participation with the applicable payer and plan has been confirmed. Insurance benefit verification is an estimate based on information available at the time and does not guarantee payment or reimbursement. Uninsured and self-pay clients will receive a Good Faith Estimate when required.
Private Pay
CTA Behavioral Health offers private-pay services for clients who are not using insurance or who choose to pay directly for care. The fees below are CTA Behavioral Health’s standard private-pay charges. Insurance-contracted rates and applicable copayments, deductibles, or coinsurance may differ.
- 15-Minute Consultation — $0
- Initial Diagnostic Assessment — $175
- Individual Psychotherapy, 16–37 minutes — $100
- Individual Psychotherapy, 38–52 minutes — $140
- Individual Psychotherapy, 53+ minutes — $160
- Couples / Family Psychotherapy, identified patient not present — $175
- Couples / Family Psychotherapy, identified patient present — $185
Insurance
CTA Behavioral Health works with insurance on a plan-by-plan basis. Network participation is confirmed for the specific payer and product before services are represented as in network. Before insurance-billed services begin, we will review available benefit information, including applicable copayments, deductibles, coinsurance, telehealth benefits, and authorization requirements. Insurance verification is an estimate and does not guarantee coverage or payment.
Out-of-Network & Superbills
If CTA Behavioral Health is not in network with your insurance plan, a superbill may be available upon request when appropriate. A superbill includes information you may submit to your insurer for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Providing a superbill does not guarantee reimbursement, application toward a deductible, or coverage by your plan.
Good Faith Estimates
Uninsured and self-pay clients will receive a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges when required. The estimate is based on the services reasonably expected at the time it is prepared and may be updated if the anticipated course of treatment or expected charges materially change.
Cancellations & Missed Appointments
CTA Behavioral Health uses a 24-hour cancellation policy. Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice and missed appointments may be subject to an attendance fee. These fees are not billed to insurance as psychotherapy services.
- Individual or diagnostic appointment — $100
- Couples or family appointment — $125
CTA Behavioral Health may waive or reduce an attendance fee when appropriate due to circumstances such as an emergency, hospitalization, serious illness, significant technology failure outside the client’s control, natural disaster, safety crisis, clinician cancellation, payer restrictions, or another documented circumstance warranting discretion.
Other Services & Administrative Fees
Some services outside routine psychotherapy may involve additional charges. Fees for forms or letters that are not included in ordinary clinical care will be quoted in advance. Charges for treatment-record copies will follow applicable California law and practice policy. Court, deposition, subpoena, legal, or forensic-related services are not part of CTA Behavioral Health’s routine launch services and require a separate written agreement before any voluntary non-treatment service is accepted.
Payment & Financial Responsibility
Payment arrangements and any applicable financial responsibility will be reviewed before services begin. Clients using insurance are responsible for applicable copayments, deductibles, coinsurance, and other amounts permitted under their health plan and CTA Behavioral Health’s financial agreement. Private-pay clients are responsible for the published service fee unless another arrangement has been documented in writing.
Couples & Family Therapy and Insurance
Insurance coverage for couples and family therapy depends on the specific health plan, the clinical circumstances, and the service provided. The existence of a billing code does not mean that relational treatment is covered by every insurance plan. CTA Behavioral Health will review the applicable benefits and billing requirements before representing a couples or family service as covered.
Questions About Fees or Insurance?
If you have questions about private-pay fees, insurance benefits, or what you may be responsible for paying, CTA Behavioral Health can review the available information with you before services begin.
